You will not be able to join another club either, unless your subscriptions are up to date. The letter, received by club secretary Alan Domleo reads as follows: " 23rd November 2009 FINAL REMINDER: Overdue Athlete Registration Fees Dear Alan, We are writing to highlight that our records suggest that your club owes a number of athlete registrations for the 2009/10 season, which are now more than 6 months overdue. This may of course be due to a decrease in the number of competing athletes registered to your club;if this is the case we would ask that you confirm the correct number, and if applicable to settle any outstanding balance. In the event that your club has not paid any individual's competing athlete fees for this season, that athlete would lose the right to the following- *Insurance to compete for your club in local and national competitions, under UKA rules. This is also based upon your club affiliation. *The £2 discount on road race entries *Consideration for any representative or development opportunity administered by England Athletics. In order for your athletes to continue receiving the benefits of affiliation, we urge you to settle your outstanding fees by 31st December 2009 with Athletics Services, and wish to remind you that paymentsd for the 2010/11 season will be due on 1st April 2010. I would advise you that, if the fee for any athlete (who has competed for your club in a competition under UKA rules in the current season) were not paid by 31st December 2009, that athlete would not be permitted to renew their competition licence as a member of your club for the next 12 months Club affiliation and athlete registration are vitally important for our sport to be safe, and fair. They are essential for us to ensure resources from England Athletics, our partners and other bodies, can be channelled effectively and fairly. They also ensure that clubs and their members can be consulted and have their say in the way the sport is run. We have enclosed a document giving more details on these important principles. We recognise that you may simply have had a change in the number of competing members in your club, and if this is the case please let us know as soon as possible so we can update our records accordingly. Should you have any queries regarding payment, a member of the Athletics Services team would be more than happy to answer any questions that you will have, and they are contactable on 0121 713 8400 or email at
