Derby got off to a solid start to the track season, with a 4th place finish on home soil at the weekend. Despite missing a few distance runners and multi-eventers Derby held their form throughout the day. Having been promoted last season the team knew that it would be challenging to gain the top spots. Tom Phillips was busy in the distance events, finishing 3rd in the 800m and 4th in the 1500m (PB) despite legs full of lactic. Jono Hornblow was close to his PB (48.14 to a 48.06 PB) in winnin the A string 400m. Team Manager Phil Harries played his part, winning the 400m Hurdles, he hasn't lost it! Jonathan Heath, still Under 17, showed his immense talent when winning the A string High Jump in 1.90m.
